Terrell Batiste

Terrell Batiste’s passion for music blossomed in his childhood, growing up in the vibrant Lafitte Projects, where he was constantly immersed in the infectious rhythms of Andrew J Bell. 


His musical journey took off when he joined the renowned Hot 8 Brass Band during his high school years, embarking on a 25-year career of touring and performing with them. Batiste’s unwavering dedication and exceptional talent earned him a Grammy nomination. 


Beyond music, he ventured into acting, making appearances in popular TV shows like Claws, HBO’s Treme, and the film Power, which starred Jamie Foxx. These diverse endeavors have firmly established Batiste’s place in the rich musical and acting legacy of New Orleans.

Javan Carter

Hey, I’m Javan Carter a professional tuba player of 16 years. I am from New Orleans, Louisiana, born and raised. I’ve played Tuba in many brass bands out of New Orleans such as Rebirth brass band, Stooges Brass Band, young fellaz brass band, one mind brass band and many more. I am currently a tuba player in Sporty’s brass band. i’ve been a part of this band for about four years now. 


Outside of playing in New Orleans brass bands I also am a part of Solange knows band as her tuba player as well. Outside of me being a musician I am also an audio engineer. I own a recording studio in New Orleans call Dojo Studios, as well as being an Audio Engineer in sports broadcasting. I’ve been in sports broadcasting for about seven years now. 


Between music and broadcasting, I’ve traveled all around the world, and also have been producing music for local artist in New Orleans for years. Music and Audio has always been in my blood. I can remember as a child playing radio tunes on my toy instruments my mom got me for Christmas. 


I was only four years old when I got my first toy piano, and I naturally heard the tones of the music with my ears and figured out which notes they were on the piano. I have a natural ear for sound and is always looking for ways to sharpen my natural talent and experience new opportunities.

Rashaad (Squirrel) Collins

Squirrel is a New Orleans-based trombonist whose journey into music defies convention and speaks to pure dedication. Born October 3, 1982, he began playing trombone at the age of 30—an uncommon starting point in a city where music is often learned from childhood. In just over a decade, he has developed into a seasoned professional with a powerful, expressive sound rooted in the traditions of New Orleans brass.


Over the past 12 years, Squirrel has performed across the city’s vibrant music scene, sharing stages with a range of local bands and steadily building his reputation as a dynamic and reliable musician. His playing reflects both the grit of lived experience and a deep respect for the culture that shaped him.


He currently holds a key role in Sporty’s Brass Band, one of New Orleans’ most respected and recognizable brass ensembles. With the group, he has helped cultivate a distinctive sound that blends tradition with modern energy—earning them a strong following both locally and beyond.


Squirrel’s story is one of perseverance, growth, and authenticity. His rise in the New Orleans music community stands as proof that passion and commitment can carve a path at any stage in life

Dorian Jones

Dorian Jones is a leader, brass musician, mentor, and creative visionary dedicated to building legacy through music and leadership. He has traveled overseas three times, performed in multiple states, and been featured on songs across Apple Music and other streaming platforms. Along with his passion for music, Dorian serves as a middle school dean focused on mentoring and preparing students for the future through discipline, leadership, and encouragement.

Felix Lewis

Born and raised in New Orleans, Felix Lewis discovered his voice through music at an early age, beginning on tuba in the 8th grade at McDonogh 35 Senior High School. What started in the classroom quickly grew into a lifelong passion rooted in culture, discipline, and community.


He continued his studies at Southern University and A&M College, where he earned honors including Most Outstanding Performer and Bandsman of the Year, distinguishing himself through both musicianship and leadership.
After graduating in 2018, Lewis returned home and became a member of Sporty’s Brass Band, contributing to the city’s rich brass band tradition while evolving as a performer.


In addition to performing, he is a dedicated music educator committed to developing the next generation of artists. Whether on stage or in the classroom, Lewis uses music as a tool for expression, storytelling, and community connection.

Herman Williams IV

Herman Williams IV is a New Orleans native who has turned his passion for music into a successful career. His journey began in his youth, shaped by family influence, mentorship, and his education at St. Augustine High School and Tulane University. 


He emphasizes that success comes not only from talent but also from reliability and strong behind-the-scenes work. In addition to music, he maintains a professional career in medical education while managing other personal responsibilities. Despite opportunities elsewhere, he remains deeply committed to and rooted in his hometown of New Orleans

Leo Q. Davis

Leo Q. Davis, also known as “Leo The Great,” is a multi-instrumentalist from St. Louis, Missouri who began playing music at age 10 on the clarinet before transitioning to tenor saxophone. Inspired by Dwight and Dwayne Bosman of The Bosman Twins, he expanded his talents to multiple woodwinds including flute, piccolo, bass clarinet, and soprano, alto, and baritone saxophones.

Since relocating to New Orleans in 2016, Leo has performed across the United States and internationally, including Russia, sharing stages with celebrities and notable entertainers. Known for his versatility and dynamic sound, Leo The Great continues to make his mark as an international recording and performing artist.

Terrioues White

Terrioues White is a New Orleans–based trombonist whose dynamic musicianship reflects his roots in the city’s vibrant 8th Ward. Originally an accomplished young athlete, he redirected his focus to music during high school, setting the foundation for a multifaceted artistic career. 


While pursuing studies in Biology and Public Health in college, he independently mastered additional instruments and deepened his commitment to performance. 


White has since cultivated a distinctive voice as a trombonist, blending technical skill with cultural authenticity. Balancing his career in music with his work as a math educator, he exemplifies the modern renaissance artist. His journey is defined by discipline, versatility, and a passion for continuous growth in both the arts and academics.

Glen Finister Andrews

Glen Finister Andrews is a prominent New Orleans drummer and member of the legendary musical family Andrews from the Treme. I began playing snare drum at the age of six, mentored by family elders like trumpet player James "Twelve" Andrews and my father, Glen Andrews, trumpet player, and Glen David Andrews, among many more in my family; it's genetic. 


I am serious about the tradition and about the music, keeping it evolving and being passed down. I played with many brass bands mostly all them , but now I'm with Sporty's Brass Band.
